beim stöbern auf den FTP-Server von Adobe sind mir folgende unbekannte ID-Updates aufgefallen:

id202_excelupdate_all.hqx
id202_memoryupdate_all.hqx
id202_textupdate_all.hqx

Zu finden unter: <ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/indesign/mac/2.x/>

Sind diese bekannt, bzw. empfehlenswert?

ist das Update wichtig, nötig etc.?
ID 202ro lief ja gewohnt schnell und ohne Zutun.
Aber die anderen „Kleineren“ - na, die Orte unter 9.2.2 zu finden, war ja nicht ganz ohne. Sherlock suchen lassen nach so geheimnisvollen Namen wie „PMRuntimeLib“. Man hat ja sonst nix zu tun. Oder hab ich was falsch gemacht?
Fehlte nur noch, daß ID nicht mehr läuft. Aber das tut es.

— If text contains characters with varying fonts and/or point sizes and optical kerning is applied to the text, the spacing between characters will be correct.
— If optical kerning is applied to text, the spacing will be the same whether the fonts are installed before or after the document is opened.
— If a Microsoft Word document or RTF file contains Macintosh or Windows® system fonts with bold or italic styling applied, and the document or file is placed into an InDesign document, InDesign may not report that fonts used by the file are missing if the fonts are installed or active."

When European number separators are used in an Excel spreadsheet (for example, "1.234,567") and the spreadsheet is placed into an Adobe® InDesign® 2.0 document, the number separators are imported incorrectly. For example, "1.234,567" is imported as "1,234.567." The Excel Import Filter Update resolves this issue."

Ob ein Update nötig oder wichtig ist können Sie vielleicht besser selbst beurteilen - ich wurde aber diese zwei empfehlen. 'Installation instructions' sind auf jedem Fall dabei.

Die beiden letzten Updates sollte man auf jeden Fall installieren. Das Excel-Plugin verhindert das Ändern von 1000er Punkten in Kommas beim Platzieren (1.500 wird sonst zu 1,500), das Text-Plugin verhindert u.A., dass bei einer durchaus üblichen Textformatierung in Word (ein Stil wird als fett formatiert, also nicht der echte Schnitt) dieser Text als fehlend gemeldet wird.

Das Memory-Update braucht man nur, wenn man 1,5GB und mehr Arbeitsspeicher hat. Kurioserweise meldete ID bis dato dann "Not enough memory"
