ja, da gibt's Unterschiede. Der obere Teil der Datei (Variablendefinition) enthält die "geschrumpften" Variablen, d.h. alle Nicht-Roman-Zeichen sind rausgeflogen, der untere Teil enthält die kompletten Texte. Screenshot hier:

Let me explain. While Illustrator does in fact support unicode, that refers to the document itself. However, the palettes don't necessarily support unicode. Illustrator programmers must make each palette support unicode. I believe the Layers palette does (layer names, etc.), but it's certainly possible that the Variable's palette doesn't support it yet -- hence the characters are being stripped out.
Sounds like a good idea to log a format feature request to add unicode support to the Variables palette.

Löst mein augenblickliches Problem nicht wirklich... wenn die das seit Einführung der Variablen mit Illu10 übersehen haben, dann dürfte ein solcher Request (wo auch immer ich den stellen müsste) bis zur CS5 dauern...
