Der Versuch von der OsX CD zu starten scheitert mit einem "schwarzen Monitor".

Es handelt sich um einen G4 Rechner. mit zwei IDE-Platten.

Ich vermute den Ärger in der Graphik-Karte des Rechners
- ProMaxDHMAX
(Dieses Modell ist für zwei Monitore ausgelegt!)

Das, nicht funktionierende Betriebssystem ist MaxOS 10.1 (Build 3J34). Die beiliegende CD mit dem System 9.2 funktioniert einwandfrei.

Hat jemand Erfahrung, ob diese Kombination Schwierigkeiten
macht?

Also, da habe ich keine Ahnung, die Grafikkarte sagt mir jetzt auch nichts. Hast Du die Original-Grafikkarte noch? Wenn ja, kannst Du sie mal einbaun, um das System zu installieren und dann noch mal probieren, nach den neusten Softwareupdates...

Hallo, ich habe einen beigen g3 mit ähnlichem problem. die installation bleibt bei 9 minuten stehen bzw manchmal wird der bildschirm schwarz

Ja, ist denn da auch eine Grafikkarte von einem Dritthersteller drin? Sonst ist es sicher ein Hardware-Defekt. Ich weiss von einem Fall, da war der Prozessor kaputt.

Die Original-Karte habe ich nicht.

Was mich hier in erster Linie irritiert ist die Tatsache,
dass ich MacOS 9.0.2 problemlos instalieren (und benutzen) kann,
bei MacOS X der Monitor aber schwarz bleibt.


Gibt es eine Liste der OS-X-tauglichen Karten, bzw einen Workaround
um dieses grmxxxxl-System auf den Rechner zu bringen?

nach längerem Suchen noch immer nichts gefunden... Nimm mal Kontakt mit dem Hersteller der Karte auf.

Endnote 6 workaround Several MacFixIt readers working together in the forums have assembled a workaround for Endnote 6, one of the first applications to be earmarked as incompatible with Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar). Barry Fishman's procedure:

1. In the 'Get Info' box for EndNote 6, check the box labeled 'Open in Classic Environment'
2. Launch Classic and launch EndNote 6 (you might lose some of your preferences because now you will be using the Classic System's Preferences Folder, but otherwise everything, especially the all-important styles, will be intact). Everything (as far as I can tell) in EndNote works fine from Classic, even the Connection files.
3. Launch Word X (Make sure that you've already installed the CWYW files properly in the Word Start-Up Folder. The EndNote Installer should have done this for you)
4. Everything should now work between EndNote 6 and Word X normally, just as it does when EndNote 6 and Word are running in OS 10.1.x. I tried inserting references with CWYS, modifying them, inserting figures, formatting bibliographies, etc. It all worked!

It appears that if your have more than 1 GB of memory installed the 10.2 will not run with the dual graphics cards. Apple says that it is an issue with ATI. The only temporary fix is to remove some memory during installation."
